EB-5 Program

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is a U.S. visa program that allows eligible foreign investors and their immediate family members (spouse and unmarried children under 21) to become lawful permanent residents (green card holders) of the United States by investing in a U.S. business.

The program was created by congress in 1990. In 2022, the EB-5 Program was updated through the Reform and Integrity Act (RIA 2022). Under this law, the program will stay active until September 2027, and it will likely be extended again by Congress.

There’s also a grandfathering rule, which means that if you start your EB-5 process before the deadline, you can finish it under the same rules that were in place when you applied. This protection lasts until September 2026.

Set Aside Visas: 10%

EB-5 Urban / High Unemployment Projects offer safer investment terms but have longer processing times.

EB-5 Rural Areas
Projects

Investment projects located outside of metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) and not within cities with populations of 20,000 or more, qualifying them as "rural" under the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. These areas are typically underserved or less developed, and the U.S. government prioritizes them to stimulate economic growth and job creation.

Investment amount: $800,000
Set Aside Visas: 20%
Priority processing

EB-5 Rural Area Projects offer shorter processing times but come with increased investment risks.

EB-5 Infrastructure Projects

Infrastructure projects are government-supported developments that improve public facilities and services such as transportation systems, utilities, public buildings, and other civic infrastructure. These projects with participation of  federal, state, or municipal government entities, or by a private partner under a public framework.

Investment amount: $800,000
Set Aside Visas: 2%

EB-5 Infrastructure Projects available opportunities are limited and often highly competitive.

Standard EB-5
Projects

These investment opportunities are located in areas that do not meet Targeted Employment Area (TEA) requirements. They are typically found in economically strong and stable locations such as major metropolitan markets, where job creation demand is already high. Because they are not TEA-qualified, these projects require a higher minimum investment.

Investment amount: $1,050,000

In general, Standard EB-5 Projects offer greater commercial stability and stronger market fundamentals but involve longer visa wait times and higher capital requirements.
